Quilt Size (Read Description Below)

I’m now officially offering Longarm Quilting Services!

(Please read this listing in its entirety, by purchasing this service you are agreeing to the following)

At this time, I am only offering all-over, edge-to-edge designs.

What’s included in the cost of this service you may ask? Well, here is what you will get:

·      The actual Quilting service in the pattern of your choosing

·      Hobbs 80/20 (Cotton/Polyester) batting

·      Thread (many colors available)

·      And the return shipping within the United States.

Processing time is typically 2-3 weeks from the time I receive your quilt, either by mail or personal drop-off in the Portland OR area.

Please follow the steps below to send in your quilt.

1)    Measure your quilt top (length x width = size in square inches).

2)    Select the appropriate size range of your quilt from the options above before adding to your cart.

3)    After purchasing your quilting service, you will be sent a link to download the Order Form and Checklist. This MUST be included with your quilt so I can ensure the proper design and thread colors are used to finish your masterpiece. Don’t have a printer? That’s OK! The information can also just be written on a piece of paper and pinned to your quilt.

4)    Determine the quilting pattern and thread color you would like, using the links below.

·       Pattern Chart

·       Finesse Thread Chart

Please note: My preferred thread is Finesse, but other thread is available. If you have a custom request please contact me so we can discuss. If you are unsure of what color you want, you can always leave it up to me and simply put “Quilters Choice” on the order form.

5)    Prepare your quilt for mailing according to the checklist:

·      Prep your quilt top by ensuring that it is clean, pressed and folded neatly. Give your quilt top a quick inspection to ensure that there are no stains/spots, incomplete seams or popped stitches.

·      Prepare your quilt backing by piecing it (if required), the backing fabric must be at least 8” longer, and wider, than quilt top.

·      Example: Your quilt top is 60” x 70”, your quilt backing should be at least 68” x 78”.

·      Do not sandwich or baste your quilt pieces.

6) Mail your quilt top and backing fabric to the address provided on the Order Checklist: (I do recommend using the smallest possible USPS flat-rate envelope or mailer)

That's it! Once I’ve received your quilt, I will email you to let you know it arrived safely, and to confirm your selections of pattern and thread color. I’ll also provide a more definitive ETA on completion.

Once the quilting is complete, I will ship your quilt back to you via USPS.

Then all you need to do is Bind & Label your masterpiece and it’s ready to enjoy!

Important Information:

  • I am currently quilting with my Grace Co. 16x Elite and Quilters Creative Touch automation on a 10’ frame. The maximum width I can load on the frame and quilt edge to edge is 102” and the maximum Pantograph height is about 11".
  • I will quilt to the edge of your quilt top, but there are times the quilting may extend just beyond the edge, this can safely be trimmed off when adding your binding.
  • There may also be instances where the design ends just shy of the edge, If this happens, I will ensure it is no more than ¼” so that the design edge will be caught in the seam allowance of the binding.
  • Thread Breaks, it happens. In the case of a thread break mid-design, I will knot and burry the thread ends. The threads at the beginning and end of each row will not be buried.
  • My studio is smoke free (all kinds) and is pet friendly (Cat and Dog). While the animals have little to no interest in quilting, I feel the need to add this in case you have severe allergies.

F.A.Q.

Q: Do I need to provide my own backing fabric?

A: Yes, while the Hobbs 80/20 batting is included in the cost of the longarm quilting service, backing fabric is not. You should send a backing that is ready to load onto the frame, if any piecing it needed to get the fabric to the correct size, you are responsible for that. If you are wanting to use some of my 118” wideback fabric, that can be purchased separately. Please add a note to your order if this is what you are ordering for so I don’t ship you the fabric just for you to ship back to me.

Q: What if my piecing isn’t perfect?

A: That’s PERFECTLY fine. You’d be surprised what quilting can do to a maybe “not so perfect” top. The cost for the longarm service covers some limited “finessing” to get your quilt as flat and square as possible, but if there are some more tricky spots (such as popped or fraying seams, major puckers, etc.) then I will contact you so we can come up with a gameplan (some additional charges may apply for additional work being needed)

Q: What if I measured my quilt top wrong?

A: Don't stress, I will re-measure the quilt tops as they are received, and if you quilt top doesn't fall in the size range you selected, I will either issue a refund for the difference, or send an invoice for any remaining balance.

Q: Can I send Minky for the back of my quilt?

A: Yes! I don’t have any issues using Minky, but please note that some longer pile Minky (think faux fur length) does have a tendency to pull through to the front of the quilt while stitching, I cannot control this.

Q: What if I would like a pantograph design that you don’t offer?

A: There are so many pantographs on the market today, it would be impossible for me to offer them all. If you have a special pantograph already selected that isn’t in my current list, let me know. If it is available for purchase from the designer, I can add it to my library, a $5 charge may be applied to your service so I can purchase the design.

Q: What if I want a different batting used on my quilt?

A: If you would like a batting other that the Hobbs 80/20 (Cotton/Polyester) that is included, you are more than welcome to send batting along with your top and backing fabric (do not baste the layers together). Batting must be at least 4” larger than the quilt top. There will not be any discount given for providing your own batting.

Q: Will you bind my quilt for me?

A: At this time, binding is not a service I am offering.

Q: Will you show my quilt on your social media channels?

A: I might... But there is no guarantee. My focus and priority is getting your quilt finished and back to you as quickly as possible. Also, if you would prefer I NOT share your quilt, or just not before a certain date, you can indicate that on the order form.
