This listing is for one seat at the In-Person workshop being held in Portland, OR on Saturday December 16th, 2023 at the Multnomah Arts Center

Class will be from 10a - 3p with a 1 hour lunch break. Lunch will not be provided, but there are some restaurants very close to the venue.

You will be sent a PDF download with your supply list and additional workshop details (address information, date/time reminder, preparation checklist) Be sure to checkout with the email address you will want to be communicated through, so I can reach out if needed.

You will need to purchase a copy of the pattern as well, which can be found here:

What you'll need to bring to the workshop:

  • A sewing machine in working order*, complete with foot pedal and any accessories.
  • Your printed copy of the pattern (including all hat pattern pieces)
  • Fabric required for the hat (a 10" quilted square for the front panel, either a 1/4 yard or Fat Quarter of each the outer shell & the lining fabric)
  • Marking tool (Pencil, frixion pen, other fabric marking tool)
  • Scissors
  • Straight Pins / Sewing Clips
  • Size 16 sewing machine needle (or a denim needle)
  • 40wt sewing thread
  • Awl (optional)

What I will provide:

  • Ultra-Firm stabilizer (for the brim)
  • Lightweight Interfacing
  • Foam Stabilizer (for the front panel)
  • Snap Closures (and the snap setting tool)

*All students are required to have proficient knowledge of their sewing machine. We understand things happen, but you should be able to troubleshoot your machine on your own and understand how everything works. I won't have much time to assist with troubleshooting while the class is happening and want everyone to walk away with a completed hat.

Before signing up for class, please double-check your schedule. To be fair to myself and other students we must remain firm in our registration and cancellation policies.

Cancellation/refund requests must be made at least 7 days prior to class so I can try and fill the empty seat. I will issue a full refund for any class I fully cancel due to unforeseen circumstances. If needed, I will reschedule classes as quickly as possible, rescheduled classes are not automatically subject to a full refund, if you cannot attend the new dates please let me know so we can make arrangements.

Your registration in class implies your agreement to adhere to all the above-stated cancellation and refund policies.

In the event of inclement weather, classes could have a delayed start time or be rescheduled for another day. If we are experiencing snow and icy conditions, please check social media including Facebook and Instagram. This will be the quickest way to receive updates as the stores might not be open if road conditions are too dangerous for staff to get to the store to call or email you.
